Liu Ling Yu


Mr. Liu Ling Yu graduated with a Bachelor of Music Performance in Cello at Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music in Singapore. He attended Middle and High School at the Central Conservatory of Music in China. In 2016, he went under the tutelage of Jiang Li Xing. He joined China National Symphony Orchestra from 2013 to 2016.

Liu Ling Yu won the Best Performer’s Prize in the AiQinBei Cello Competition. Lingyu has also been awarded the 2nd prize in the Lower string section in the YST Concerto Competition in the year 2019. He took masterclasses in Albert Roman, Emil Rovner, Clive Greensmith, etc. In 2019, He joined the Noon Recital concert at Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music and Li Wei Qin’s Studio Recital. The same year, he performed the cello in Young Musician’s Concert at Qingdao Cello Festival. In 2018, He performed in the Beethoven Im Garten concert in the Botanic Garden and Junior Recital at Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music. He performed Solo Recital at Minzu University of China in 2015.

In the year 2021 Asia Outstanding Strings Instructor Award, Lingyu also clinched the Distinction Award. With numerous years of teaching experience for beginners from childhood to adulthood, Lingyu has led a pool of Grade 6-8 students to achieve Merit and Distinction grades in the ABRSM exam.
